Kanye West has cast Scott Disick - the boyfriend of Kourtney Kardashian, the sister of the rapper's pregnant partner Kim Kardashian - in his new music video.
Kanye West has cast Scott Disick as the lead in his latest music video.
The rapper is keeping business in the family by asking Scott, who is in a relationship with Kourtney Kardashian, the sister of Kanye's pregnant girlfriend Kim Kardashian, to be in the promo.
The promotional video will be inspired by the film 'American Psycho' - about Manhattan businessman Patrick Bateman, played by Christian Bale, who is also a delusional serial killer.
According to the New York Post newspaper, the promo will be shot in Brooklyn and will re-create Bale's lines about Huey Lewis and the News - which he utters to Jared Leto's character Paul Allen - but with references to Kanye and his forthcoming album 'Yeezus' substituted for 'The Power of Love' hitmakers.
Leto's part in the video is going to be recreated by Kim's close friend Jonathan Cheban.
Although Disick will appear in the video, Kanye apparently wanted a bigger star for his musical project and was keen on James Franco to portray Bateman.
A sponsor has been brought in by the hip-hop star's record label Def Jam to cover the $100,000 budget for the video, which will be used to market Kanye's album online.
'Yeezus' is due to be released on June 18 but according to reports Kanye enlisted the help of super-producer Rick Rubin to make changes to the LP - which he recorded predominantly in Paris - in the last week.
Meanwhile, the rap star celebrated his 36th birthday without Kim on Saturday (08.06.13) by hosting a lavish dinner at Miss Lily's Jamaican restaurant in New York.
Guests included Jay-Z and his wife Beyonce, Nas, magician David Blaine, Jonathan and Scott Disick. Heavily pregnant Kim could not be at the meal because she is no longer allowed to fly as she gets so close to her due date.
