The JESUS WALKS star was so pleased with his debut album THE COLLEGE DROPOUT he considered ending his career on a high, but working with Common freed his creativity for so much, new songs flooded out of him.
He says, "When I made The College Dropout I talked about it being my last album ever. But I was working with Common, and while I was working with him, songs just flowed out of me.
"I was on a mission in the first one, to prove you can make songs with this subject matter. I was attempting a lot of things other than making music. This time, there was just music flowing out of me. I had to let it go.28/07/2005 09:17
