Rapper Jay-Z was a surprise performer at the 2011 MTV Vma awards on Sunday night (29.08.2011) as he stepped out on stage with Kanye West and performed the track 'Otis' from their first collaboration album WATCH THE THRONE which was released this month.
The 28th annual Mtv Vma awards took place in Los Angeles' Nokia Theatre and featured a variety of stars including Lady GaGa, Adele, Katy Perry and her husband Russell Brand but it was the unannounced presence of JAY-Z and Kanye West that stunned the crowd with a live performance of their first single. There were also a few more surprises on the night including a fan jumping on stage during the performance but all were beaten by the news that Jay Zs wife of three years, R&B singer Beyonce Knowles was pregnant with their first child. There were scenes of obvious joy as Kanye West jumped around congratulating the '99 Problems' hitmaker following the announcement to which JAY-Z was seen smiling and clapping. "That was an eventful night, to say the least," said JAY-Z to Mtv.com
