Animal rights activists have taken aim at Kanye West and his pregnant girlfriend Kim Kardashian, insisting they are setting "poor examples" to their unborn child by wearing fur.

The reality Tv star, who is due to give birth in the summer (13), covered her baby bump with a fur wrap in Paris, France on Monday (04Mar13), and bosses at People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (Peta) are fuming about her fashion choice.

A statement from Peta, issued to GossipCop.com, reads, "Children naturally identify and empathise with animals - so even though Kim and Kanye will undoubtedly serve as poor examples when it comes to kindness toward animals, perhaps their child will take after Aunt Khloe (Kardashian) and choose kindness by rejecting fur.

"Children who come from greedy, self-absorbed parents could follow their lead or break away and be alienated from and disgusted by them. Kim is a commodity: She is paid to wear things like fur or a particular make-up and to shake hands with dictators - so she is not a good example for a child or anyone else of how to show a social conscience.

"Thankfully, this child will be growing up in a time when most people know how blatantly cruel it is to buy a coat made from someone else's skin - so there is hope."

The Stronger hitmaker has previously been slammed by Peta chiefs for donning a floor-length lynx pelt coat in 2010 during Men's Fashion Week in Paris, while Kardashian was famously attacked with flour last year (12) by an animal rights protester.
