Actor Kal Penn paid a special tribute to America's troops on the country's Memorial Day (27May13) after spending the last week with a group stationed in the Middle East.
The former House star teamed up with the United Service Organizations (Uso), which supports American soldiers around the globe, for his third visit to boost the morale of servicemen and women.
Penn, who served as the Associate Director of the Office of Public Engagement at the White House under President Barack Obama, took to his Twitter.com page to observe Monday's (27May13) holiday, which commemorates the service of troops, and revealed he had just returned from his trip.
In the post, he writes, "Honored 2 (to) spend the week b4 (before) Memorial Day w/ (with) the uso & our servicemembers. Much respect to all of you at home & abroad."
