Amitabh Bachchan Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna

Bollywood movie legend Amitabh Bachchan is back at work after taking four months out to recover from surgery. The 63-year-old appeared on the set of Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna (NEVER SAY GOODBYE) in Mumbai earlier today (20MAR06) after recuperating from an operation to treat diverticular disease - a condition caused by inflammation of the colon. The actor's make-up man DEEPAK SAWANT said, "He was very excited this morning to come back to the set." Bachchan, who has starred in more than 100 films, will soon begin shooting for GANGA (RIVER GANGES) and BABUL, in which he plays the lead role. He was hospitalised last November (05) after complaining of abdominal pain.

Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan has vowed to return to acting in two weeks after spending four months recovering from an intestinal ailment which struck last November (05). The 63-year-old has not appeared on set since undergoing major surgery to resolve the problem, but insists cameras will be rolling from 20 March (06) when he stars in a film directed by his make-up man, Deepak Sawant. Other film projects include a part in acclaimed director Karan Johar's forthcoming Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna, which charts the budding romance between two married people. Bachchan is one of Bollywood's most prolific actors, having appeared in more than 150 movies.
