The Four Horsemen aren't just magicians; they're illusionists with an agenda. Their initial stunt was so spectacular that no one saw it coming - especially Arthur Tressler, a very wealthy businessman who owns multiple businesses including an insurance firm.
It's been a year since The Four Horsemen performed their spectacular stunt which saw them send Thaddeus Bradley to prison and Tressler almost bankrupt. Now the team are back with another target in their sights - this time they plan on targeting a crooked tech magnate but before they get chance to fulfil their new illusion, they group find themselves in unknown surroundings with little knowledge of how they arrived.
With their reputations on the line, the four magicians must pull off their biggest trick of all in order to save their name whilst also exposing the puppet master pulling all the strings from above.
After becoming the most famous magicians in the world with their last tricks and exposing the wrongdoings of Arthur Tressler, it was obvious that as many people as they helped, they'd always upset a powerful few. One of those is Arthur's son, Walter Tressler.
Walter is on a mission to cause The Four Horsemen as much damage as possible. In order to stop Walter, the four magicians must pull off a stunt far bigger than their first.
With Isla Fisher pregant and unable to commit to the film Lizzy Caplan (Masters Of Sex) has been brought in to play the role of Lula. Other than Isla, all the lead cast from the first film will appear in the new film and Daniel Radcliffe will play the role of Arthurs son, a tech magnate.
Following on from the events of 'Divergent', the mysterious government has discovered a magical maguffin which had the power to create the idyllic future they have always hoped to fulfil. The only catch, is that it requires a Divergent in order to activate it. As the government begins testing any and all Divergents they can find, Tris (Shailene Woodley) is already on the run, and meets up with an army of secret, hidden Divergents. When it is revealed that she may be the only one to truly activate the maguffin, the Divergents rise up as an Insurgency, and take the fight to the government that has oppressed them for too long.

Following the revelation that she is Divergent and not specialised for any of the dystopian Chicago factions, Tris (Shailene Woodley) uncovered a series of intrigue and dishonesty amongst factions. Now, Tris is on the run with her leader Four (Theo James); being chased by the Erudite - a faction based on intelligence - as they plot to become the dominant faction. With Tris' family having sacrificed themselves some great secret, Tris and Four must find out what that is before the Erudite can catch them and win.
Tris Prior is a 'divergent' in a world where everyone is split up in accordance to their dispositions. This means that she is no one of any faction of virtue, but a combination of all of them; something that makes her particularly powerful and unreceptive to the manipulative powers of the government. Given her position, she is warned not to reveal her circumstances to anyone, but to pick one faction and hope that nobody discovers her, otherwise she will be hunted down and killed. Determined to know just why divergents are such a threat to the world, she sets out to find out more about herself and her capabilities while becoming increasingly close with her faction initiation instructor, Four.
'Divergent' is a dystopian story about a futuristic society; a story rather in the vein of 'Ninteen-Eighty Four' and 'The Hunger Games'. It has been directed by Neil Burger ('The Illusionist', 'The Lucky Ones', 'Limitless'), written by Evan Daugherty ('Snow White and the Huntsman', 'Killing Season') and Vanessa Taylor ('Hope Springs', 'Jack & Bobby'), and is based on the 2011 novel of the same name by Veronica Roth; the first of a trilogy. It will hit cinemas in the UK on March 21st 2014.
The film is part of a new DLF project, 'Playing Lynch'.
