Justin Timberlake teamed up with former 'N Sync bandmate Jc Chasez, rapper TI and THE Black Eyed Peas star WILL.I.AM as he celebrated his return to the top of the charts on Thursday night (31AUG06) in New York City. The SEXYBACK singer took over the Roseland Ballroom to host a post-MTV Video Music Awards party and the stars came out to join him. As rap mogul Sean Combs watched the show from a balcony seat, Timberlake, who opened the MTV VMAs, introduced one starry pal after another. His set included a cover of the Eurythmics' SWEET DREAMS and a short guitar-riff tribute to one of his favourite tunes, Nirvana's grunge anthem SMELLS LIKE TEEN SPIRIT. He tells MTV News, "I'm sure (KURT) COBAIN rolls over twice (in his grave) every time I play it... but screw it."
