Justin Timberlake has played dumb over reports he changed the lyrics to his hit song Suit & Tie to take aim at Kanye West during a recent U.S. Tv performance, insisting he can't recall exactly what he said.

The pop superstar, who teamed up with West's best pal Jay Z for his musical comeback, altered a line in the track for his weekend (09Mar13) set on comedy show Saturday Night Live and appeared to hit back at the Stronger hitmaker for telling concert-goers in London that he "ain't f**king with that Suit & Tie".

Instead of the original words, "Aww, s**t so sick, got a hit and picked up a habit", he switched it to, "My hit's so sick, got rappers acting dramatic" - but Timberlake is refusing to own up to the sneaky jab and has urged fans to "keep calm", because he is a huge fan of West's work.

When quizzed about the lyric change on the first night of his week-long Tv residency on U.S. talk show Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on Monday (11Mar13), he brushed off the question, saying, "Did it seem that way? I don't remember that. Did I change a line? It is live... You know everyone? Keep calm. Let me just say, for the record, I absolutely love Kanye. So there's that."

During the chat, Timberlake also revealed he was battling illness to promote his new album, The 20/20 Experience, stating, "I'm sick... I'm on some weird drugs right now, anything could happen on national Tv right now."

The project is the singer's first new album in seven years.
