Newlyweds Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel have hit the streets of New York to help victims of Hurricane Sandy.

The couple - who recently returned from a safari honeymoon in Tanzania after tying the knot at the plush Borgo Egnazia resort in Puglia, Southern Italy, on October 19 - volunteered to help pass out emergency supplies and clean up Rockaway in Queens yesterday (10.11.12).

A source told Us Weekly magazine that the couple visited a CVS pharmacy with their good friend and music producer Timbaland to pass out small bags filled with food, toiletries and basic medical supplies to victims.

Twitter user @kristiray7 shared a photo of the stars helping out: ''Shout out to Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel for serving along side of us in Rockaway and giving the kids something to talk about besides Sandy.''

The 31-year-old 'SexyBack' singer first expressed his concern for New York on November 1. He wrote on his twitter: ''Taking in the devastation caused by Hurricane Sandy . . . my thoughts and prayers go out to everyone that was affected.''

'Total Recall' star Jessica, 30, - who recently confirmed she is legally changing her last name to Timberlake but will continue to use her own name professionally - also tweeted: ''Sending my prayers and love to New York City and to everyone affected by Hurricane Sandy'' and urged her followers to donate to the Red Cross.

The couple aren't the only celebrities pitching in to help after the horrific storm ravaged the east coast of the US.

Lady GaGa donated $1 million (£620,000) on behalf of her family to boost relief efforts via the American Red Cross for Superstorm Sandy fund, while Brad Pitt, Ben Stiller, Snooki, Russell Crowe, Barbara Walters, Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen and Chelsea Handler have also donated and participated in charity drives.
