The Darkness frontman Justin Hawkins was left red-faced at the height of his addiction battles after wetting himself on a flight.
The British rockers shot to fame in 2003 and Hawkins, who has admitted suffering cocaine and alcohol addictions, jetted around the world with the band.
He recalls one mid-air incident where he became convinced the airline food was poisoned, so decided to only consume liquids - resulting in a very public shaming.
Hawkins tells Britain's The Sun, "I woke up in first class on a plane wearing a microphone fancy dress costume and realised to my shame that I had publicly wet myself. It was not my finest hour.
"It was during a ridiculous phase of not trusting airline food. I began to think they were putting chemicals in it to make you constipated. So I decided I wouldn't eat anything and drank until I passed out."
The star walked away from the band in 2006 to seek treatment for his addictions at London clinic The Priory, and has now been clean for almost five years.
