The One Direction lads know just what it’s like to get a hard time off the press, so they have been showing a bit of support for a fellow teen performer who’s been getting some serious stick recently. Justin Bieber’s trip to the UK should have been a huge triumph for the young star, but instead, some petulant behaviour on Justin’s part, coupled with a British media who obviously had their knives sharpened ready for him, meant that it turned out to be a pretty disastrous tour.

Lucky for Justin, then that he has some pretty high-profile sympathisers in the UK, to level out the weight of opinion that’s swinging away from his favour. One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson tweeted a message to his followers, saying “Although I don't know him personally, I do wish the press would take it easy on @justin bieber” and added “I really do empathise with him, I don't see anything out of character in comparison to any other teenagers I know." Louis’ band mate Zayn Malik chimed in too, to agree with Louis, saying “@Louis_Tomlinson what a dude man :D ha got your back bro !! @justinbieber.”

Now, One Direction must be pretty used to coming into contact with famous folk and fellow pop stars by now but even they must have been pretty stoke when Bieber took the time out to thank them for their support. Bieber, tweeting from Portugal, said “@zaynmalik @Louis_Tomlinson thanks fellas. all good over here. much appreciated." Teen pop love, what a wonderful thing that is.
