Justin Bieber surprised girlfriend Selena Gomez with an intimate dinner and movie in downtown Los Angeles on Friday (23rd September 2011). However, instead of opting for a restaurant and the cinema, Bieber decided to hire out the 20,000 seat Staples Center, reports Tmz.com.
After cheering on Lovato at her sold out concert at the nearby Nokia Theatre, Bieber led his girlfriend through the underground tunnel that connects the theatre to the Staples Center. At around 11pm, the couple emerged in a completely empty arena with a table for two set up in the centre. The venue's restaurant 'The Lexus Club' catered the meal, with the couple opting for steak and pasta. Afterwards, the Oscar-winning movie 'Titanic' appeared on one of the giant screens. Bieber reportedly got the idea after watching the Adam Sandler film 'Mr Deeds', in which the actor's character surprises Winona Ryder with an intimate date at Madison Square Garden. Gomez, who will host the upcoming Mtv Ema Awards, was reportedly "shocked" by the unique surprise. Bieber, who didn't have to pay a penny for the evening, having sold out the venue on three separate occasions.
Speaking about the date on his Twitter page, Justin told followers, "Romance isn't dead. Treat your lady right fellas. #REAL".
