Justin Bieber was given a speeding ticket this morning (06.07.12).
The 'Boyfriend' star was pulled over by police after reportedly being spotted driving at over 100 miles per hour in his silver Fisker Karma sports car.
He was stopped on the 101 Southland Freeway, near Calabasas, California, as he tried to get away from photographers who were pursuing him.
Los Angeles City Councilman Dennis Zine - a former motor officer - called the police after witnessing Justin's driving.
He told website TMZ: ''Bieber was driving like a maniac. He was weaving in and out of traffic. There was hardly any space between cars as he weaved from lane to lane.
''If I was on patrol, I would have arrested him for reckless driving. I was going 60 and he drove by me like he was in a rocket ship. He was a maniac.''
Dennis added the paparazzi in pursuit of the star were also driving recklessly.
Justin was given a speeding ticket for breaking the speed limit by driving at 80 miles per hour.
The singer's Fisker Karma is a hybrid powered sports car made in Finland, worth $100,000. The bright silver chrome plated vehicle has a top speed of 125 miles per hour (mph) and can achieve zero to 60mph in 6.3 seconds.
The car was bought for him as a present for his 18th birthday earlier this year, and presented to him by his manager, Scooter Braun, on 'The Ellen Degeneres Show'.
This is not the first time Justin has been caught speeding. Last year he was pulled over in his other car, a customised black Cadillac CTS-V Coupe, but was let off with a warning. He also narrowly escaped a fine last December, after being stopped for making an ''unsafe left turn'' at a Los Angeles intersection.
