Justin Bieber's 'Never Say Never' was originally called 'Sexy Together'.

The Canadian singer's motivational anthem about overcoming life's obstacles was first recorded by former NLT boy band member Travis Garland at the beginning of his solo career - and featured a much more raunchy subject matter.

The original lyrics included: ''We're so sexy together/ when we touch hotter than summer weather/ No one else does it better/ and know that everybody wants what we got/ we're sexy together.''

Justin's song now boasts an altogether more wholesome message: ''I will never say never / I will fight till forever/ Whenever you knock me down, I will not stay on the ground / Pick it up, Pick it up, Pick it up, Pick it up up up / And never say never.''

Travis explained to MTV News: ''The story behind that is that was a song I wrote with a production team called the Messengers it was called 'Sexy Together' and I actually cut the song.

''Eventually decided it wasn't right for me and I wasn't going to use it, so I said go ahead and shop it for somebody else, and so they ended up just rewriting my lyrics and then selling it to Justin Bieber for his movie.''

The song has become a teen anthem and the title was also used for the 19-year-old star's 3D concert movie, 'Justin Bieber: Never Say Never'.

Travis - who has just released his second album - added he is surprised the 'Baby' hitmaker never contacted him to thank him for the hit song.
