Actress Juliette Lewis has hit out at Hollywood's sleazy image and has called on fans to understand US actors are hard workers, not the hedonistic party-goers the media portrays them to be.
The KALIFORNIA star wishes American cinema was respected in the same way the French movie industry is by its people.
And she blames the endless stream of gossip about Hollywood screen stars for fooling people into believing actors only work to finance their expensive lifestyles.
She says, "People have a weird impression of 'Hollywood'. There isn't a weird club out here where all the famous actors hang out. There's not a 'Hollywood Spa'.
"It's strange, you go to France, and they treat cinema with some respect. They actually treat it like fine art."05/05/2005 17:26
