British actress Julie Walters plans to grow old with dignity by maintaining her looks naturally, because she views cosmetic surgery an admission of inadequacy.
The BILLY ELLIOT star, 54, has spent years struggling with her self-esteem, but if she resorted to going under the surgeon's knife to boost her confidence she would be disgusted with herself.
Walters says, "There's something in me that would always say no to a face-lift. I would feel as if I had let myself down and said I'm not good enough. And there's enough of that in life without confirming it by having cosmetic surgery.
"For years I was quite hard on myself. I wasn't convinced I was good enough and I probably got that low self-esteem from my mother."24/01/2005 13:56
