Heavy Metal 2000 Review

OK
Also inexplicably known as Fakk 2, this update on the cult classic original carries all of the loud music of its predecessor but little of its style. All-updated animation robs Heavy Metal 2000 of its charm, and casting a porn star (Strain) as its lead -- in animated form as well as her voice -- should give you some idea where this movie is aimed. (Hint, it's in the pelvic region.) Not that the original was sophisticated, but at least it was funny. Heavy Metal 2000 doesn't offer much more than an excuse to see animated boobs and lots and lots of violence, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I just wish there was more to the goings on.

The Bare Wench Project Review

Good
As Blair Witch Project spoofs go, The Bare Wench Project is simultaneously one of the most insulting and appealing send-ups made. Starring four strippers/Playmates (ostensibly some of the oldest "sorority sisters" you've ever seen), our heroines venture into the woods in search of the Bare Wench, a spirit with the sole power of making you horny. It's absolutely hilarious to watch them find sex toys arranged in "spooky" shapes, or a tree littered with lingerie... but best of all are the outtakes that run during the closing credits, wherein Antonia Dorian is unable to blurt out even the simplest of lines, take after take after take.

The Independent Review

OK

Remember that great Z-grade 1969 protest picture "Brothers Divided," about the conjoined twins drafted to serve in Vietnam?

No? How about the blaxploitation classics "Venus De Mofo" and "The Foxy Chocolate Robot?" Or the tree-hugging girlie biker flick "The Eco-Angels"? Or the midget Gidget movie "Teenie Weenie Bikini Beach"?

Those don't ring a bell? Surely you've seen at least one of the 427 movies directed by schlock filmmaker Morty Fineman over the last 38 years, right?
