Celebrity hairstylist SERGE NORMANT found a friend in Julia Roberts when he revamped her look for a photoshoot while she slept.

The Pretty Woman was standing on less than an hours sleep when she first sat down for Normant in 1992 after filming THE PELICAN BRIEF with DENZEL WASHINGTON through the night.

She recalls, "I came in having slept for about 47 minutes, met the guys and said, 'I'm so tired, I haven't slept.'

"I sit down for Serge to do my hair and about three-and-a-half minutes later I fell asleep, and he just very gently moved my head around and did my hair. I woke up and I looked fabulous."

Roberts' most famous windswept Normant look graces the cover of the stylist's new photo book METAMORPHOSIS.

The hairdresser also styled the actress' hair for her July 2002 wedding to cameraman DANNY MODER.
