LATEST: One of Julia Roberts' twins has been rushed into an incubator after suffering respiratory problems, contradicting recent reports the actress and her husband DANNY MODER have taken their babies home.
HAZEL PATRICIA weighed 1.9 kilograms (four pounds, five ounces) when she was born five weeks prematurely on 28 November (04), along with her brother PHINNAEUS WALTER.
Doctors have been regularly checking their lung development, and, according to British newspaper the DAILY MAIL, Hazel has been transferred to the intensive care unit of the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles with respiratory malfunctions and jaundice.
Roberts has since cancelled all promotional duties attached to her new films CLOSER and OCEAN'S ELEVEN to be permanently close to Hazel's bedside.
A close friend says, "This is every mother's nightmare - to have a new baby struggle to survive after being born prematurely. Hazel has had respiratory problems since birth and was placed in an incubator while her lungs fully develop.
"Doctors have tried to reassure Julia that the chances are good that Hazel will fine and there will be no longterm complications."09/12/2004 13:56
