Misty Upham, the acclaimed Native American actress best known for starring in the movie adaptation of August: Osage County alongside Julia Roberts and Meryl Streep, is missing in Washington state. Police say the actress has not been seen for six days.

According to Reuters, Ms Upham was last spotted walking by herself from an apartment on Sunday near Auburn, 20 miles south of Seattle. She was reported missing by her father on October 6.

Police say they responded to a suicide call from the apartment but that Upham had already left by the time officers arrived. She is believed to have left on her own free will and there are thought to be no suspects in the disappearance. Authorities have responded to suicide times four times in the past year at the same apartment and Upham's parents told police she is on medications for mental health issues.

A critically lauded actress, Upham was nominated for the Independent Spirit Award for her outstanding supporting performance in the 2008 movie Frozen River, while she also had an un-credited role in Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained. However, it was as housekeeper Johnna Monevata in August: Osage County that Upham is best known.
