Judi Dench is set to be one of the stars on parade as director Michael Grandage unveils his ambitious plans to revitalise the West End with a series of affordable and star studded shows.
Dench, along with SIMON RUSSELL BEALE, Jude Law, Daniel Radcliffe, Sheridan Smith, David Walliams and Ben Whishaw, will be the main stars in what Grandage hopes will be a revamping of the famous stretch of theatres in London. The actors and actresses will star in one of five plays (each running for 12 weeks) under the direction of Grandage at the Noel Coward Theatre. The run, beginning from December 1, can be enjoyed by audiences for as little as £10 ($15) a show.
The shows on offer will start off with Russell Beale in Privates On Parade, then followed by Ms Dench in the new play by John Logan (who wrote the hit play Red) about the real-life inspirations behind Alice In Wonderland and Peter Pan. Following on from this Daniel Radcliffe will take on the lead role in The Cripple Of Inishmaan, whilst Sheridan Smith and David Walliams will star as Titania and Bottom respectively in A Midsummer Night's Dream. Jude Law will close the run of shows with another Shakespeare piece, this time taking on the role of Henry V.
