Colombian pop superstar Juanes is organising a benefit concert to highlight his country's landmine problems. The singer/songwriter will team up with Alejandro Sanz, ANA GABRIEL and Laura Pausini, among others, for the charity show at Los Angeles' Gibson Amphitheatre in May (06). The all-acoustic show will also feature performances by JUAN LUIS GUERRA and Ricardo Montaner. Juanes jumped at the chance to stage the concert after learning that thousands of people have died in his native Colombia as a result of anti-personal mines, scattered throughout the country. He says, "Many people, including the media are not reporting on the seriousness of this problem in Colombia, where an average of three people now die each day as a result of these deadly mines."
