Joss Whedon has just dropped his new movie In Your Eyes via Vimeo
Avenger’s director Joss Whedon is known for surprising his fans and today he’s given them an extra special Easter gift, a whole new film, In Your Eyes. The director has made the feature available to rent on video streaming website Vimeo for just $5 after it premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival.
Joss Whedon Has An Easter Gift For Fans
In Your Eyes is the second release from Whedon’s micro-studio Bellwether Pictures, who last year put out Much Ado About Nothing. The movie stars Zoe Kazan and Michael Stahl-David and is described as a ‘supernatural love story’ as the two strangers believe they share a telepathic connection.
Fans were expecting the film to premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival, but little did they know they’d be able to enjoy it themselves much sooner than expected. Before the film was shown, Whedon sent a video message where he announced the screening was "not just the premiere of the film - it is the worldwide release date because, as of now, In Your Eyes is available on any internet-capable device”. Fans have already flocked to site to view the film and take advantage of the very reasonable price tag. According to the BBC Whedon said, "It's exciting for us because we get to explore yet another new form of distribution - and we get $5."

Getting the latest Whedon release is a major coup for Vimeo, who face tough competition in the video streaming world. The company’s Grey Clayman told Gigamon that In Your Eyes is "The most high profile title we've had on the platform, definitely,” adding, "The fact that people like Joss are starting to think about direct distribution and connecting directly with their fans is exciting for us, and a trend we think will continue.”
In Your Eyes is available for rent on Vimeo now priced at $5 (£3).
