British soul star Joss Stone has vowed to remain defiant despite pleas from her record label to refrain from promoting her music in the U.K.
The singer was ridiculed for her appearance at this year's (07) Brit Awards in February after she spoke in an American accent.
But Stone insists she doesn't care how she is portrayed by the British press - and insists she'll never "shut up".
She tells MTV.com, "In a way I wasn't surprised. I've learnt that the w**ker newspapers don't build you up to be nice they do it to knock you down so there's nothing I can do.
"They (the label) said don't do anything in the UK because everybody hates you. I wasn't allowed to speak but I'm totally not shutting up any time soon - I never have and never will."
