Joseph Gordon-Levitt, the star of hit films 'Inception' and '(500) Days of Summer', paid an online tribute to his brother DAN GORDON-LEVITT, who died on 5th October 2010. The actor announced the tragic news on his Twitter page on Tuesday, writing, "My super hero brother @burningdan 1974-2010". Dan, who often went by the moniker 'Burning Dan', worked as a performer in Venice Beach, California, fire-spinning and teaching flow arts.
Gordon-Levitt allegedly died of a drug overdose, reports the UK's Daily Mail newspaper. His body was discovered in the early hours of Monday 4th October 2010 and a coroner spokesman said that while the autopsy has been completed, the results are being deferred until toxicology results become clear.
The Gordon-Levitt brothers were also partners in the website 'Hitrecord.org' which enabled artists and filmmakers to post their work and connect with others in the film industry. Writing on the website on Tuesday, Joseph left a fitting tribute to his brother, saying, "BURNING dAN brightly embodied that bold beastly bliss sometimes referred to as "the creative spirit." He was my chief collaborator on the foundational incarnations of hitRECord.org over the years and continues to inspire us ever the more".
