Singer Joseph Arthur is fuming after his car was sold at auction after he failed to pay a handful of parking tickets.
New York City officials towed the star's van from the garage where it was being repaired last month (26Jul12) after Arthur neglected to hand over $361 (£226) in fines.
The 40 year old, who was on tour at the time, asked his manager in Canada to handle the situation, but, due to a miscommunication with bosses at the garage, Arthur's vehicle was never claimed, prompting government officials to sell the car to the highest bidder during an auction last week (23Aug12).
The musician recently returned home to find his beloved 2003 Dodge Ram gone, and Arthur is now heartbroken after losing his set of wheels, as well as the merchandise, vintage amps, and personal paintings he had inside.
He tells the New York Times, "My manager was Canadian and didn't understand the seriousness of the situation. If I could turn back time, I would."
A civil rights lawyer, Ronald L. Kuby, has since been hired to help track down the buyer.
