Jordin Sparks thinks it is "fun" to have muscle definition now.

The former 'American Idol' champion has transformed her figure, losing 30lbs through zumba classes and portion control and says she feels "sexier" than ever with her new shape.

She told People magazine: "I've always felt cute, but now I feel sexier. I definitely didn't want to lose my curves. I'm in a good place now.

"It's fun to see the different muscle groups I couldn't see before."

The 21-year-old singer insists she hasn't changed what she eats drastically but has tried to adopt new eating habits.

She explained to 'Access Hollywood': "My diet has pretty much remained the same, like if I want a piece of bread, I'm gonna have a piece of bread, but I'm making healthier decisions like instead of a bag of chips for a snack, I'll see if I can find an apple.

"I've also upped my intake of vegetables and I'm drinking a lot more water."

Jordin insists she is too focused on her career to notice the attention she is getting for her new figure, but is pleased her family and friends support her weight loss.

She said: "My friends and family are seeing a little girl grow up. I haven't had anyone come up to me and go 'Wow, you look fine, let me get your number' type thing yet, but I've been focused on the music, so I have not been in that environment yet."
