RADIOHEAD star Jonny Greenwood has embarked on a new side-project away from
the cult British band - as the BBC's composer in residence.
The role will give Greenwood unlimited use of the BBC's musical facilities
and their in-house orchestra as he works on tunes for the corporation's
classical music station RADIO THREE, as part of a three-year contract.
His manager BRYCE EDGE says, "He will have access to the resources, the
archives, the scores, and most importantly the BBC CONCERT ORCHESTRA.
"He will be able to workshop things he has written with the full
orchestra. And it is an incredibly flexible arrangement," he said.
Greenwood is a classically trained viola player but has not been tutored
in classical composition.
