THE Jonas Brothers have prompted officials at the New York Police Department to bolster security before the trio takes over Times Square on New Year's Eve (31Dec08), fearing the band will draw a "mob scene".
The singers will perform in the city as part of for DICk Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve TV spectacular, and New York's finest, who have heroically defended the city during terrorist attacks, riots and blackouts, are concerned about the screaming fans who will brave the big freeze to see the boys' show.
A source says, "They're now planning on using extra men for support. It's going to be crazy."
