The 'SOS' hitmakers' American tour was due to start in Philadelphia last Friday (11.10.13) but they cancelled the gigs following a major argument about the ''direction'' their music was going.
Jesse Derris, spokesperson for the boy band - who formed in 2005 - said: ''There is a deep rift within the band. There was a big a disagreement over their music direction.''
An insider added: ''It's not a personal fight, it's about the music. They are brothers, they love each other. Yes, they are still speaking.''
What's more, both Nick and Kevin haven't tweeted on their personal Twitter accounts since October 1, while Joe - who has more than 6.5 million followers - last wrote on the social networking site on October 8.
Corgan took to Instagram to confirm rumours of new Pumpkins material, saying the first songs could arrive as early as May.
