Jonah Hill's feud with Matthew Morrison is a "joke".

The comic actor has confessed the seemingly simmering tension between him and the 'Glee' star is all a prank the pair have concocted between them.

In an interview with MTV, Jonah said: "It's so funny, because it's so a joke. I think it's so funny. I called him out on 'Jimmy Fallon' and pretended to get really angry, like old WWF wrestling-style. I got in the camera's face and stuff."

During an appearance on 'Late Night with Jimmy Fallon' in September, Jonah accused Matthew of "bullying" him at a showbiz event when the screen hunk told him to stop talking in front of other guests and challenged him to "bring his s**t", adding he'd "like to see him sing his way out of this one".

In a video response sent to talk show host Jimmy, Matthew - who plays teacher Will Schuester in the musical drama TV series - said: "I heard that Jonah said I should bring my s**t next time.

"Well, guess what? This is next time.

"You think I can't sing my way out of this? I can sing my way out of it and I can dance my way out of it, so pick a date and I will meet you on 'Late Night with Jimmy Fallon' and we will settle this like men."

Although Jonah has "never seen or spoken" to Matthew it seems his 'nemesis' has been doing a good job of selling their feud, with Matthew even maintaining a "deadpan" face when he met one of the 'Moneyball' star's friends.

Jonah explained: "A guy I know was on a plane with him and was like, 'Hey, I'm friends with Jonah Hill.' And he's like, 'OK.' So my friend is like, 'Is this thing funny?' and Morrison is like, 'I don't know.' Not mean, just deadpan - 'I don't know.' I don't think either of us know what's really happening."

However, if 33-year-old Matthew wants to make their beef real, then Jonah, 27, is ready for a brawl.

He joked: "I'm going to prepare to fight. If it ends up just being awesome and he's nice, I'll be prepared for that also, but I'm going to prepare to fight. Any type of 'Glee' event, I'm prepared to throw down."
