A law enforcement source told the New York Post's Page Six that the 'Livin' On A Prayer' hitmaker made a frantic 911 call because the cut caused ''heavy bleeding'' and escorted his wife in an ambulance to Beth Israel Medical Centre at 11.30am.
The insider said that Dorothea, who celebrated her 25th wedding anniversary with Jon in April, received stitches and was released a few hours later.
The couple put their plush apartment in the city on the market for $37.5 million last month, according to real estate blog Curbed.
