Johnny Depp has officially split from Vanessa Paradis after 14 years together. The couple have "amicably separated", according to the Hollywood actor's publicist, who spoke with Entertainment Tonight on Tuesday (June 19, 2012).
The statement added, "Please respect their privacy and, more importantly, the privacy of their children". In 2011, it was reported how the couple had drifted apart and were living separate lives after moving back to Los Angeles from their home in France. They haven't appeared on the red carpet together in over a year, despite Depp having numerous high profile movies to publicize. The couple first got together in 1988, when the actor reportedly saw the French actress sitting with a group of friends at a bar in the Costes Hotel in Paris, according to People Magazine. The pair have two children together, Lily-Rose, 13, and Jack, 9, and the actor recently told French magazine Vsd that living in the country with his family "has given me everything. A marvellous family and also an equilibrium which I missed enormously". Back in 2010, Paradis gushed to UK magazine Marie Claire about Depp, saying, "I could make an endless list of all the things I admire about him.We understand that, if we want our relationship to continue, we must give each other space, allow each other to go off on our own, and trust each other. Not everyone is lucky enough to be given space and trust".
Depp is currently shooting Gore Verbinski's reboot of 'The Lone Ranger', with ARMIE HAMMER.
