Rumours in Australia suggested the actor left filming Down Under to jet back to the U.S. to address relationship problems with his wife Amber Heard, but a representative for the swashbuckling franchise has now slammed the allegation.

Michael King tells the Brisbane Times, "I can't go into detail on our filming schedules or the movements of individuals but I can tell you that nothing in that report has any relation to reality. Mr Depp has been filming on schedule. It's business as usual, with all participants working."

Depp's Australian work trip has already hit a rough patch after he was forced to deport his pet dogs when officials accused him of allowing the pooches to enter the country illegally.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is due for release in 2017.
