Johnny Depp and Amber Heard are set to tie the knot after the 50 year-old reportedly popped the question on Christmas Eve.
Rumors began circulating that Johnny Depp had already proposed to Amber Heard after a photograph revealed a diamond ring on her left hand. Speculation also began due to the 27 year-old actress attempting to shield her hand from the paparazzi when leaving an LA restaurant on January 14th.
Depp has proposed to Heard
It has now been confirmed that the two Hollywood stars are set to tie the knot in the near future.
Thanks to a reliable 'source' People magazine has now reported that the rumors are indeed true.
"Of course they couldn't be happier to be engaged and excited to share the rest of their lives together," the source said to People, who also said Heard has "told close friends" the good news.
"Amber has really taken well to the kids and really enjoys spending time with them. And she's even taken Lily shopping on her own for some bonding time."
Another insider, who is apparently close to their family, told Celebuzz, the 'Lone Ranger' actor popped the big question on Christmas Eve, which is rather impressive that they have been able to keep it a secret for so long.
"It happened on Christmas Eve," the source said, adding, "Amber really took her time to make up her mind."
Amber met Johnny on the set of 'The Rum Diary'
They met during filming the 2011 drama 'The Rum Diary' and it has been speculated the acting duo have dated since the summer of 2012.
Heard and Depp publically acknowledged their relationship for the first time when they hit the red carpet on Saturday (Jan 11th) at the Art of Elysium gala at L.A.'s Skirball Center.
The 50 year-old was previously in a fourteen year relationship with Vanessa Paradis, and they have two children together, Lily Rose and Jack. The pair announced their 'amicable' split in June 2012.
Prior to Depp, Amber was in a four year relationship with photographer Tashya van Ree, which ended in 2011.
Congratulations to the happy couple.
