Johnny Depp will take on a cameo role in the big screen remake of '21 Jump Street', it has been confirmed.
Johnny Depp will make a cameo appearance in the '21 Jump Street' movie.
The 'Rango' star - who shot to fame in 1987 as Officer Tom Hanson in the undercover police TV drama - will appear in a small, uncredited part in the remake, which will star Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill.
Although it is unclear if Johnny will reprise his original role, he revealed last year that he had his own plans for the movie.
Johnny said: "If we find the right thing to do, it could be very funny. It sounds like a great idea. It'd be hilarious.
"Someone will say, 'Whatever happened to Tom Hanson?' and they'll find me somewhere hoarding jars of peanut butter and shaking in my underpants."
In the new Phil Lord and Christopher Miller-directed movie -which will begin filming later this month - Channing and Jonah will play police officers investigating a new drug plaguing a high school and Jonah previously revealed he wanted Johnny on board.
He explained: "We wrote a really awesome Johnny Depp cameo. I talked to his agent a few times. I've never met the man. He probably won't do it, but if he does, it will be one I think he'd be proud of, and it's a real crowd pleaser. It's not cheesy."
