Johnny Depp has been voted America's Favourite Movie Star for the second year running. The Harris International Poll has placed the Pirates of the Caribbean star at the top of the list of the most admired Hollywood actors. Depp topped the list, ahead of perennial favourites Clint Eastwood and Denzel Washington. Brad Pitt was notably absent from the list - as was his partner, Angelina Jolie, though the two are often hailed as Hollywood royalty. In fact Sandra Bullock was the only female on the list, which also featured George Clooney, Harrison Ford, Adam Sandler and Will Smith.
This accolade may be of some comfort to him, as he will no doubt face a tough few weeks, with the media keen to discover what's really going on with him and his partner Vanessa Paradis. Reports have surfaced recently suggesting that their relationship may be over. The couple have reportedly spent very little time together and have not attended a movie premiere together in over a year. Depp recently purchased a 'mansion' in Norfolk, UK but it was unclear whether or not he planned to live there alone or with his wife and children.
In 2012, Johnny is scheduled to appear in the Tim Burton-directed film Dark Shadows. The film will mark the next instalment in a long-running series of collaborations between Burton and Depp and will see him share screen time once more with Burton's partner, Helena Bonham Carter. Dark Shadows also stars Eva Green, Michelle Pfeiffer and JONNY LEE MILLER.
