Johnny Cash and THE Beatles' have had two of their seminal albums selected for the second annual induction into America's

LIBRARY OF CONGRESS' NATIONAL RECORDING REGISTRY.

Cash's live recording AT FOLSOM PRISON and the FAB FOUR's psychedelic opus SGT PEPPER'S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND are among the 50 recordings selected by Librarian of Congress JAMES H BILLINGTON for being "culturally, historically or aesthetically significant".

Songs and albums by Marvin Gaye, Otis Redding, PATSY CLINE and BRUCE Springsteen have also been included in the new list.
