Country singer and actress Jana Kramer chose her career over marriage to her ex Johnathon Schaech.
The couple's summer union in 2010 lasted a little over a month before Kramer hit the road to tour and actor Schaech accepted his second marriage was over.
They separated and their divorce was finalised in June, 2011, but the actor refuses to speak ill of his ex, insisting he still buys her music and follows her career.
"We never were together because she had a choice whether she wanted a singing career or she wanted to be married to me - it was too hard to do both.

Actor Johnathon Schaech was recruited to serve as comedienne Ellen DeGeneres' go-to red carpet date in the 1990s, before she "came out" as gay in 1997.
The That Thing You Do! star and the comic-turned-U.S. talk show host sparked rumours they were dating 20 years ago after they were photographed together on several occasions, including during a memorable 'date' at the 1995 Screen Actors Guild Awards, where they held hands.
And during a Reddit Ask Me Anything (AMA) question-and-answer session with Johnathon on Monday (04Apr16), a fan asked the actor if the romance gossip was true or if their relationship was strictly platonic.
He revealed, "My manager asked me to accompany her to events. She was scared people would not watch the show, her sitcom Ellen, because she was gay. It was an honour."

Jana Kramer and Mike Caussin are expecting their first child together.
Jana Kramer is pregnant! The former One Tree Hill actress and country music singer is expecting her first child with husband Mike Caussin. Kramer’s representative confirmed the news on Monday (10th August) and the couple released a short statement.

The Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN) is an organisation founded in 1990 which focuses on ensuring school environments are safe for every pupil. The organisation's awards ceremony is held annually and is usually attended by a range of celebrities.
Paul (Jason Patric) used to be a major figure in the Las Vegas crime world - known by his rivals as 'The Prince - before retiring to life as a mechanic in Mississippi as the single father of his growing daughter Angela (Jessica Lowndes). In a desperate bid to stay together, Hercules and Hebe plan to elope, but before they can make their move, Hercules is ordered to battle. When an army fails to kill him, he is forced alongside his comrade to take part in a series of gladiator events, but it soon becomes clear that Hercules is no ordinary man when he starts to reveal his indomitable strength.
This epic action flick is based on the original Ancient Greek myth and has been directed by Renny Harlin ('Die Hard 2', 'Deep Blue Sea', 'Cliffhanger'), alongside writers Daniel Giat ('Path to War'), Sean Hood and Giulio Steve. 'The Legend Of Hercules' is due to be released in the UK on March 28th 2014.

The Ray Donovan star's wife, Julie Solomon, gave birth to Camden Quinn Schaech on Thursday (12Sep13) in Los Angeles.
He tells People.com, "It all makes sense now. We are so happy and beyond excited - life has just begun."
