The Golden Globe award Hollywood icon John Wayne won for the original True Grit has been sold at auction for $143,400 (£89,625).
The Best Actor honour was put under the hammer by the actor's youngest son, Ethan, as part of the first single-owner sale from Wayne's personal collection.
And the trophy proved to be a big hit with auction attendees when it hit the auction block in Los Angeles this week (ends07Oct11), according to Tmz.com.
Other items that were sold off included one of his eye patches from the 1969 movie, and numerous hats, costumes and scripts.
A portion of the proceeds from the lots will be donated to the John Wayne Cancer Foundation to help fund research and treatment programmes.
