John Travolta was honoured in New York last night (05DEC04) when pals OPRAH WINFREY and Kirstie Alley teamed up to toast the movie star for his huge heart.

The Pulp Fiction actor brought out the stars at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel, where he was honoured by New York's Museum of the Moving Image.

Winfrey hosted the black tie affair, and used the evening to pour praise on her friend. She said, "An opportunity to declare my love for John Travolta? Oh yeah, I had to be here."

His LOOK WHO'S TALKING co-star Alley added, "I feel like John is my soulmate."

Kathy Bates and James Gandolfini, who co-starred with Travolta in PRIMARY COLORS and Get Shorty respectively, were also present at the gala, as was his actress wife Kelly Preston.

Travolta became the Museum's 20th honouree and joins the likes of RICHARD GERE, Billy Crystal, Mel Gibson, Julia Roberts and Tom Hanks.
