FOUNTAINS OF WAYNE star John Schlesinger has become the latest rocker to try his hand at writing a Broadway musical.

The STACEY'S MOM hitmaker is set to make his debut as a Broadway composer in 2006 with the musical adaptation of John Waters' quirky movie Cry-Baby.

The project will be the second Waters film to be turned into a musical - smash-hit HAIRSPRAY is currently playing to sell-out audiences in New York.
