John Lennon's Widow Yoko Ono Has Raised Eyebrows About The Late Beatles Legend's Sexuality, Alleging He "Had A Desire" To Experiment With Gay Sex.
The Japanese artist reveals both she and Lennon had discussed the idea of sexual fluidity during their time together and were open to the thought of bisexuality.
She tells TheDailyBeast.com, "John and I had a big talk about it, saying, basically, all of us must be bisexual. And we were sort of in a situation of thinking that we're not (bisexual) because of society. So we are hiding the other side of ourselves, which is less acceptable. But I don't have a strong sexual desire towards another woman."
Ono also set the record straight about longstanding rumours suggesting Lennon had once slept with the Fab Four's manager Brian Epstein during a vacation to Spain in 1963: "I think he had a desire to (have sex with other men), but I think he was too inhibited. No, not inhibited. He said, 'I don't mind if there's an incredibly attractive guy.' It's very difficult: they would have to be not just physically attractive, but mentally very advanced too. And you can't find people like that."
The rumours about Lennon and Epstein, who was gay, even inspired the 1991 film The Hours and Times.
Lennon was shot dead outside the couple's New York City apartment in 1980.
