Celebrity photographer BRIAN DUFFY, who snapped stars including John Lennon and Black Sabbath, has died. He was 76.
Duffy passed away last Monday (31May10) after battling a degenerative lung disease.
He began his career as a fashion photographer at Vogue magazine in 1957, and shot superstars such as Blondie, Michael Caine, Charlton Heston and Paul MCCartney during his career.
Duffy also worked closely with David Bowie, taking the cover shots of his 1973 album Aladdin Sane, and 1979 record Lodger.
The photographer tried to destroy his archive of work after an argument with his staff in the mid-1970s - but the black-and-white shots were saved from a bonfire and went on display in London last year (09).
