British group QUEEN'S BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY has been voted the best ever track by European music fans, beating John Lennon's IMAGINE and Led Zeppelin's STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN.

Voters rated the classic 1975 song as their favourite in the chart compiled by 30,000 viewers of pop channel MUSIC CHOICE - ahead of Lennon's peace anthem and Zeppelin's rocker, both from 1971.

Fourth placed Robbie Williams tune ANGELS is the most contemporary song in the top five, ahead of THE BEATLES' YESTERDAY.

The Beatles have cemented themselves as the most popular group in Europe, with six songs in the top 100 including HEY JUDE and A DAY IN THE LIFE.

Madonna's LIKE A PRAYER - at number 54 - is considered her most popular tune behind BRITNEY SPEARS' TOXIC, 39, and Anastacia's LEFT OUTSIDE ALONE, 48.
