John Lennon's son JULIAN is hoping to step out of his famous father's shadow by forging a new career in photography.
The 47-year-old rocker has released five albums throughout his career and is expected to return to the charts next year (11), but Lennon has recently been focusing on an artistic sideline project and opened an exhibition of his pictures in New York last week (beg13Sep10).
And the star hopes his new venture will finally help him prove his talents without any comparisons to the late Beatles legend.
He says, "My dad wasn't really a photographer so it just allows me to breathe a little more. He used to take a couple of Polaroids, but it wasn't a potential career. This is my own thing."
