John Lennon's scribbled track listing for THE Beatles' classic album SGT PEPPER'S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND is up for auction on New York, and its owner is demanding $64,000 (GBP40,000) for it.

The late star wrote down the order of songs on the back of an envelope before discarding it at London's Abbey Road studios, and document dealer GARY ZIMET insists his high valuation of the item is justified.

He says, "It's the track list for one of the greatest rock 'n' roll albums in history, in John Lennon's own hand."
