The white suit John Lennon wore on the front cover of THE Beatles album ABBEY ROAD is to be auctioned next month (OCT05) on the internet - for an expected $150,000 (GBP83,000).

The sale - which contains 250 items and will run from 2 to 29 October - also includes a hearse used in the IMAGINE documentary, which is predicted to raise up to $300,000 (GBP165,000)

A portion of the proceeds from the Lennon memorabilia will benefit Amnesty International USA.

Other lots include Marilyn Monroe's 1961 appointment book, which could sell for $10,000 (GBP5,500) and the actress' phone book ($8,000/GBP4,400); and Elizabeth Taylor's head-dress from the film CLEOPATRA ($3,000/GBP1,650), which is being sold by Debbie Reynolds.

The auction will take place on website Juliensauctions.com.
