The envelope on which former BEATLE John Lennon handwrote the lyrics of GIVE PEACE A CHANCE is going under the hammer in London.

Bonhams auction house expect the rare music memorabilia to fetch in excess of $250,000 (GBP138,800) when it is auctioned next month (NOV05).

The words to the song, which was famously recorded in a Montreal hotel room during Lennon and Yoko Ono's 'bed-in' for peace, were scrawled on both sides of the envelope.

Bonhams re-enacted the event yesterday (24OCT05) at Montreal's Queen Elizabeth Hotel.
